Attendance Policy

Our attendance requirements, leave procedures, and academic standards to ensure consistent participation and program success.

3.1 Minimum Attendance Requirement

Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance throughout the duration of their enrolled program. Attendance tracking applies to:

  • Live classes
  • Doubt sessions
  • Workshops
  • Mentorship sessions
  • Placement activities
  • Project reviews

Legal Reference: The 75% minimum attendance requirement is aligned with norms followed by UGC-recognized institutions and vocational training bodies under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). While Meritshot is a private EdTech institution, adherence to this standard reflects the institute's commitment to program quality and learner accountability.

3.2 Low Attendance Consequences

Students whose cumulative attendance falls below 75% may face:

  • Restricted or suspended access to placement support services
  • Delayed issuance of program completion certificates
  • Restricted access to upcoming assessments, live projects, or project review rounds
  • Formal written warnings issued by the academic team
  • In cases of attendance falling below 50%, the student may be required to extend their program enrollment or re-enroll in missed modules, subject to applicable fees

3.3 Leave & Absence Process

  • Students must inform their assigned mentor or trainer in advance of any planned absence
  • Emergency leaves must be communicated as early as possible — ideally before the session begins, and no later than within 24 hours
  • Repeated unannounced absences will be treated as unprofessional conduct and may be escalated to program management
  • All leave requests and absence records will be maintained as part of the student's official academic file

3.4 Recorded Sessions Policy

  • Recorded sessions are provided strictly for revision and reference purposes only
  • Accessing a recorded session will not be counted as attendance unless explicitly approved in writing by the academic team
  • Students must not rely on recordings as a substitute for attending live sessions
  • Recorded content is the intellectual property of Meritshot Zetta Edutech Private Limited and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957
  • Students are strictly prohibited from downloading, screen-recording, redistributing, republishing, or commercially exploiting any recorded session

Legal Reference: All recorded class content is protected as original works under the Copyright Act, 1957. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution may attract civil liability under Section 55 and criminal liability under Section 63 of the Copyright Act.

3.5 Continuous Absenteeism

If a student remains absent without communicating with the academic team, the following escalation steps will apply:

  1. Formal notification via registered email and phone after 7 consecutive days of unresponsive absence
  2. Marked as 'Inactive' in the LMS after a defined period
  3. LMS and platform access may be temporarily restricted
  4. Placement eligibility status may be negatively impacted or revoked
  5. If absent for 30 or more consecutive days without valid communication, the institute reserves the right to formally terminate enrollment, subject to the applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy

Important: Students who anticipate extended periods of absence are strongly encouraged to formally communicate with the academic team before their attendance falls to a critical level.
