Certification Policy
What you need to complete to receive your certificate, and how Meritshot certificates are verified.
Program certificates are awarded upon the verified completion of all academic requirements. Certification serves as Meritshot's formal recognition of a student's commitment, performance, and readiness for professional practice. The institute issues certificates in its own capacity as a private EdTech provider and does not represent these as degrees or diplomas under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
5.1 Certification Requirements
Certificates will be issued only after a student has successfully fulfilled all of the following requirements:
- Required attendance — the student must have maintained the minimum 75% attendance threshold as specified in the Attendance Policy (Section 3).
- Mandatory assessments — all module tests, quizzes, practical evaluations, and final examinations must have been completed and passed at or above the minimum qualifying threshold.
- Projects and assignments — all mandatory project submissions and assignments must have been completed, submitted, and approved by the evaluating mentor or panel.
- Fee clearance — all outstanding program fees, if applicable, must be settled in full prior to the release of the certificate.
- Compliance with the Code of Conduct — the student must not have any unresolved disciplinary proceedings at the time of certification.
Note: Partial completion of the program or failure to meet any one of the above requirements will make the student ineligible for certification until the outstanding requirement is fulfilled.
Legal Reference: Meritshot's program certificates are proprietary credentials issued by a private education company. They do not constitute academic degrees, diplomas, or government-recognized qualifications under the UGC Act, 1956, or AICTE regulations. Students are advised not to represent these certificates as equivalent to university degrees or statutory professional qualifications in any official or legal context.
5.2 Withholding of Certificates
The institute reserves the right to withhold, delay, or revoke certification in any of the following circumstances:
- Violation of the Code of Conduct (Section 6), including any confirmed instances of academic dishonesty, misconduct, or fraudulent representation.
- Incomplete submission of required assessments, projects, or capstone deliverables.
- Outstanding dues or unresolved financial obligations with the institute.
- Any ongoing investigation into a student's conduct or academic integrity that has not yet been resolved.
- Discovery of misrepresentation in the original enrollment application, identity documents, or program submissions.
Important: Students are advised to resolve all pending requirements promptly. Delays in meeting certification requirements may impact the timeline for placement activities, as certification completion is a prerequisite for placement eligibility.
5.3 Certificate Authenticity & Verification
Meritshot issues digitally verifiable certificates embedded with unique identification codes. The following terms govern certificate authenticity:
- Each certificate carries a unique Certificate ID that can be verified through the official Meritshot portal or through the NSDC/Skill India verification mechanism where applicable.
- Tampering with, forging, or altering any Meritshot certificate in any manner — digital or physical — is strictly prohibited and will be treated as fraud.
- Any employer or third party wishing to verify the authenticity of a Meritshot certificate may contact the institute at support@meritshot.com with the relevant Certificate ID.
Legal Reference: Forgery, alteration, or fraudulent use of a Meritshot certificate may constitute an offence under Section 465 (Forgery), Section 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), and Section 471 (Using as genuine a forged document) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The institute reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings against any person found to have misused or tampered with a Meritshot-issued certificate.
