How Meritshot Zetta Edutech Private Limited collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Organization Details

Meritshot Zetta Edutech Private Limited (“Meritshot”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is registered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. We operate an online education platform offering programmes in technology, data science, business, and finance, along with placement-assistance services.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data when you use our website, mobile apps, learning portals, and official communication channels (collectively, the “Platform”), and when you participate in our online education programmes and placement-assistance services.

The policy applies in India and references the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (IT Rules). By using the Platform, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Use.

Data We Collect

Identity & Contact Information

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, job title, and company name (where you choose to provide them). We use this data to identify you within our learner records and to contact you about your programme.

Account & Usage Data

Login ID, profile information, attendance records, learning progress, assessment submissions, grades, forum posts, support tickets, and call or chat recordings related to your interactions with our learner support team.

Device & Technical Information

IP addresses, browser and device type, operating system, timestamps, navigation logs, cookies, SDK and analytics identifiers, and pixels. This information helps us secure the platform, troubleshoot issues, and understand how learners use our services.

Educational & Career Records

Academic qualifications, work history and goals (if provided), resume or LinkedIn profile, and interview outcomes — collected specifically to support placement assistance and to share with hiring partners with your consent.

Payments & Billing

Invoice details, transaction IDs, plan or EMI details, and GSTIN where applicable. We do not collect or store full card numbers, CVV codes, or netbanking credentials — payments are processed by RBI-compliant payment gateways with card tokenisation and PCI-DSS standards.

User-Generated & Marketing Preferences

Assignments, projects, quizzes and exams, peer reviews, and forum posts that you submit through the Platform, along with your opt-ins or opt-outs for email, SMS, WhatsApp, and phone communications.

Biometric & Proctoring Data (Conditional)

Government-issued ID images or numbers, facial images, webcam recordings, and screen recordings may be collected only if required for proctored assessments. This data is collected with explicit user notification and any additional consents required by law. Meritshot does not intentionally collect sensitive health or biometric data without clear necessity and consent.

How We Use & Share Your Data

We process personal data only as necessary and proportionate to operate, secure, and improve the Platform and our programmes, to comply with the law, and for other purposes disclosed at the point of collection. Specific examples include:

  • Delivering programmes, assessments, and certifications to enrolled learners.
  • Providing placement assistance — including profile reviews, mock interviews, job alerts, and sharing details with hiring partners with your consent.
  • Communicating service updates, schedules, invoices, and support responses.
  • Continuously improving the content, features, and security of our platform.
  • Fraud prevention, misuse and cheating detection, and maintaining the integrity of examinations.
  • Billing, GST compliance, and statutory record-keeping under Indian law.
  • Marketing communications — but only with your explicit consent — over email, SMS, WhatsApp, or phone.
  • Legal compliance, enforcement of our Terms of Use, and protection of the rights and safety of our learners and team.

Meritshot does not sell personal data. Where we do share information, it is limited to:

  • Service providers who help us run the platform — such as cloud hosting, LMS, proctoring, communication, analytics, payment, and support vendors.
  • Educational and hiring partners as needed for your programme or placement assistance, and only with your consent.
  • Professional advisors and authorities — including auditors, regulators, courts, and law enforcement — where this is legally required.
  • Business transfers in the event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring, in which case we will inform affected users as required.

Marketing Communications

Marketing communications — including promotional emails, SMS, WhatsApp messages, and phone calls — always require your explicit opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, replying STOP to SMS or WhatsApp, or by writing to support@meritshot.com.

Even if you opt out of marketing, you may still receive essential operational messages — such as enrolment confirmations, invoices, security alerts, and updates to this policy — because they are necessary to provide the service you have paid for.

Your Rights & Security

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:

  • Access and correction — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct any inaccuracies.
  • Withdraw consent — for marketing communications and other optional features at any time.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data where this is legally permissible.
  • Portability — request a portable copy of the data you provided to us, where it is processed automatically and where this is technically feasible.
  • To exercise any of these rights, write to support@meritshot.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and may decline or charge a reasonable fee if a request is manifestly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive.

We use a combination of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption, access controls, monitoring, and ongoing staff training — to protect your data. Our employees are bound by strict rules around passwords, encryption, and secure handling, and we ensure that our vendors follow adequate security standards.

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. To the extent permitted by law, we cannot be held responsible for unauthorised access that occurs beyond our reasonable control, and we encourage users to take sensible precautions with their account credentials.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law:

  • Programme records — retained for the duration of the programme plus up to 7 years, in line with educational and statutory record-keeping requirements.
  • Proctoring media and ID proofs — retained for 90 to 365 days unless a longer retention period is required for an investigation or by law.
  • Marketing preferences — retained until you withdraw consent.
  • We may anonymise data and retain it indefinitely for analytics and business purposes, since anonymised records cannot be linked back to an individual.
